Shopping & Shipping

This page explains our Shopping, Shipping and Handling process. Understanding the shopping process as well as the available shipping options will facilitate a hassle free and seamless shopping experience. Creating Your Account
You don’t have to Create an Account to shop with us, but it’s much more convenient if you do. It will enable you to: check out faster when making a purchase, save multiple shipping addresses, access your order history, track new orders and save items to your wish list. In addition, you have the option of subscribing to our monthly newsletter that will keep you in touch with any offers or pertinent information on our school supply products and services. You will also be first in the know with regard to specials or promotions.

Viewing and Selecting Products
If you've created an account for yourself, Sign in on arrival. The Categories panel on the left hand side of the page allows you access to our full product range. Having selected a category, you are able to compare products or sort products in that category according to price or other criteria. Clicking on an individual product takes you to that products description page. Apart from a detailed description of the product, you can also view enlarged examples of the product and select from available product options. You're now able to add this product and the quantity required to your shopping cart. You can carry on browsing through the store, adding items to your cart as you go.

Once satisfied with your selection, click on the View Cart link. This link is always visible at the very top of every page, and once selected, provides a visual list of all the products placed in your shopping cart. Here you may change product quantities or remove and delete products from your cart, as you please. Remember, you are under no obligation to buy anything you have placed in your cart and you can simply sign out and walk away from your cart at any time. If you need to run along, but want to return later, our database will generally save your cart contents for at least 48 hours. When you return and login to your account, simply click on the View Cart link at the top of the homepage and your cart should be as you'd left it.

Having decided to make a purchase and having finalized your selection within your cart, you're required to click on the Calculate Shipping & Handling link in order to see the shipping costs pertaining to your intended purchase. You will need to Select your Province if in South Africa and then click on the Calculate Shipping button. Depending on your location, you have the choice of up to 5 different shipping methods, one of which you will need to select in order to complete the ordering process. Having selected the best option for you, please click on the Update Shipping Cost buttonin order to add this cost to your order total. You may now Proceed to Checkout. On the Express Checkout page you have the added option of supplying a separate Shipping and Billing address, if required. Having had logged into your account, you will find this part to be a complete breeze.

Payment Options - 
Direct Bank Deposit
Once you click on the Proceed to Payment button you'll be supplied with the SA SCHOOL SUPPLIERS® banking details. For further security information please review our Privacy Policy.

Terms and Agreement of Sale
Placing an item in a shopping basket or adding it to your wishlist without completing the purchase cycle does not constitute an agreement of sale between SCHOOL SUPPLIERS® and any user. An agreement of sale only comes into effect, if and when, upon completion of the purchase cycle, a credit card authorization is received from the issuing bank. SCHOOL SUPPLIERS® reserves the right to refuse to accept and/or execute an order without giving any reasons. SCHOOL SUPPLIERS® also reserves the right to cancel orders in whole or in part as circumstances dictate and shall only be liable to refund monies already paid by the user.

Products on this site are mostly made to order. Once your order has been accepted and placed into production, cancellation of the order may no longer be possible. Any refund request will be limited and subject to factory policy.

Please Note: Unless otherwise arranged, no goods or products will be supplied or dispatched without full and final payment being received for such goods.

Gift Certificates
You're able to Purchase a Gift Certificate for any occasion by clicking on the Gift Certificates link at the top of any page. Gift certificates are e-mailed to the recipient in a gift format with your special message included. Please note that gift certificates cannot be exchanged for cash and is non transferable or assignable. When purchasing, only one gift certificate can be used per transaction. Certificates can only be redeemed towards the products listed in the SCHOOL SUPPLIERS® online store catalogue and are not redeemable on orders already placed with SCHOOL SUPPLIERS®.

At the bottom of every individual Product Description Page you're able to comment and review a product for the benefit of others. We always appreciate feedback from our customers and you're welcome to let us know your comments, whether positive or negative. You may also post your comments here.

Delivery Options
Furniture - 
Orders ship mainly out of Gauteng. 
Furniture orders for delivery outside of Gauteng generally ship with Time Freight. Shipping costs for online furniture orders are determined after an order is placed via the website. Delivery charges vary depending on whether you need delivery to a major centre, regional or outlying area.

Textbooks - Orders ship from our depot in the Western Cape, mainly via DSV, or at times with Skynet, The Courier Guy, or Time Freight as required or determined by the volumes that need to be shipped.

Delivery Companies
In order to supply you as the customer with the best possible delivery options for your area, at the best prices, we have partnered with more than one reputable courier company. This allows each company to work to their individual strength and niche as a service provider.

Delivery Charges
The shipping rates for most items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its Product Description Page. In the case of most products the volumetric weight i.e. the physical size of the item takes precedence over its physical weight. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we employ, all weights are rounded up to the next full kilogram. Delivery charges vary depending on the physical or volumetric weight of the products ordered, the service you select as well as your delivery destination. Please note that delivery charges are non-refundable.

Risk of Loss / Insurance
All items purchased from SCHOOL SUPPLIERS® and deliverable via a courier company are insured for the benefit of all concerned and reflects our ongoing commitment to service excellence and your complete peace of mind.

Product Availability and Delays
Every effort is made to fulfill and deliver your order within 2-4 weeks from order placement and payment confirmation. We will inform you as soon as possible if, for any reason, the manufacturing of the goods you have ordered are delayed or postponed due to material shortages, import delays or higher than anticipated demand that is beyond our control. SCHOOL SUPPLIERS® will supply you with an adjusted product availability and delivery timescale at which time you may choose to accept the adjusted fulfillment date or request a refund.

Delivery Arrangements
You will be notified via e-mail or phone call once your order is ready. The courier involved will further confirm and finalize delivery arrangements with you at this time.
